Growing up on land, in regional \u0026amp; remote Western Australia, she has a deep reverence for the patterns in nature \u0026amp; the cycles of living \u0026amp; dying. Choosing to become an Occupational Therapist she has searched for best ways of being with others through their periods of deep \u0026amp; seemingly impossible challenge, while also honourably dealing with her own life transitions. She is passionate about the ways that these often painful times of transition become opportunities for growth \u0026amp; healing, through deeper understandings that come, both in relationship with the deeper self and others. We can rediscover our humanness, grow our creative capacities, \u0026amp; truly heal our lives. In her 50's now, Nari continues to learn \u0026amp; work alongside individuals \u0026amp; groups in becoming more creative \u0026amp; art-full in their lives, while practicing her own art. She has over recent years been involved in co-creating \u0026amp; facilitating with colleagues \u0026amp; community leaders, a public meditative \u0026amp; healing place in Western Australia - Bunbury Garden Labyrinth. With Nari serving for a time as Chairperson \u0026amp; twice as Secretary, the successful project was nominated for the City of Bunbury Australia Day Citizen of the Year Awards, in the Community Groups\/Events category. Nari will continue to enjoy the challenge of balancing artful, solitary time with engagement in community work. As a therapist, she is well aware that artworks have the potential to transform our home \u0026amp; work spaces, having the power to shape how we feel, think and construct reality. Further to this, especially at times of transition, when we are rendered incapable of expressing the ineffable, an artwork can often convey something beyond the words and the obvious. Nari acknowledges the Wadandi people of the region in which she lives and works, as the traditional custodians of the land.
